Grontmij has undertaken design for Cryptosporidium barriers and chlorine disinfection systems for Scottish Water at numerous locations on both the main land and islands.
Finding the best solutions
The first stage in upgrading chlorination systems was a disinfection audit to determine the most economic and reliable way in which to meet Scottish Water’s disinfection index (a measure of variability in the chlorine going to supply). All the Cryptosporidium barriers were ultra or nano filtration membranes.
