Major replacement project
Grontmij is currently working on a major project in Waterford City, which involves the replacement of 20km of old watermains in the City using advanced pipe bursting and directional drilling techniques.
Minimum impact on people and environment
This approach is significantly less invasive than open trenching, reducing disruption to the public by minimising road closures, site traffic and emissions. When completed it is anticipated that the project will reduce water leakage by up to 25%.
