In 2008, Grontmij was appointed to the East Riding of Yorkshire Council framework for general civil engineering. This comprises work for the local highway authority relating to highways and bridges and safety schemes.

Grontmij is one of three consultants appointed to assist this large beacon authority deliver its local transport plan, specifically design of highway improvements, structural inspection and local safety schemes.
