Repeated flooding
A residential area in High Blantyre had been previously flooded from surface water runoff from a steeply sloping area of agricultural land.
Developing a solution
We undertook a study for South Lanarkshire Council to identify the quantities of flow and the flow paths. We developed a solution, based on swales, to intercept the runoff and convey it to a watercourse in the vicinity. We produced engineering drawings to allow the client to appoint a contractor for the works.
