Providing successful reconciliation of safety requirements
Grontmij was involved in the substantiation and validation of a variety of nuclear facilities at the UKAEA Harwell site in Oxfordshire between 2001 and 2006.
This involved the production of engineering substantiation reports (ESR’s) with respect to a wide range of control and instrumentation equipment.
Successful reconciliation
This process required participation in a number of HAZOP and HAZAN meetings to ascertain whether appropriate levels of fault analysis and safety classification had been established by the safety case authors. The expertise of Grontmij in this area was paramount in the successful reconciliation of such safety specific requirements and the ultimate safety justification and fitness for purpose of the nuclear plant concerned.
